I’m a Nelson Ratings person!

Oh I’m so excited. They’re sending me a journal and everything. Only problem is- in the worst tv watcher ever. Every show I’ve loved has gotten cancelled

Selfie- modern day My Fair Lady! What’s not to love???

Dallas- come on, the Dallas reboot was so awesome. And John Ross was sooooo hot. Did you notice his eyes were 2 different colors? Rwar!

Telenovella- This was cute! About a soap opera star that couldn’t speak Spanish. Loved it.

GCB- based off a book that wasn’t all that great, it was cute- and ended on a cliff hanger. Whyyyyyyy? And the cliff hanger wasn’t in the book!!!!!

So there. That’s the last few shows I loved. I watched Gossip Girl from episode one till way after the writers lost interest. I gave up on Revenge. I give up on a lot of shows... (sorry Jamie)

Hopefully there is some decent tv for me to journal. Rick and Morty FTW!

Let’s talk AHS Cult

I hate clowns. Needless to say, I haven’t been a fan of this season so far. Well last night’s show finally redeemed itself. Let’s chat! If you haven’t seen season 3 of American Horror Story: Cult and want it to remain a surprise stop reading now. Move on, watch a make up tutorial or something, nothing to see here. This is not the blog post you are looking for. Meanwhile....

Spoilers ahead

Theories ahead

All clear?

Ok good.  So the opening sequence with the lady and her husband conquering her fear; only to be killed by the clown possee the same way? Ooooooooo! Ok so the doctor has to be in on it. He has to exploit people by their fears. Does he murder them when they are cured? Conquer your fear and get murdered? A friend (thanks Jonathan!) pointed out that the doctor had smiley face buttons in his office. Everything is a clue in AHS.

And wow when Kai slapped Meadow! Yasssss! I wanted to slap her too for that stupid statement. So obviously they’re part of the cult.  And hot cop and neighbor dude are obviously a thing. So how did Oz get the video of Ally and Winter? I can’t believe Ivy slapped her! A lot of hitting going on in this episode.

So both Ally and crazy neighbors have the smiley face Target on their house somewhere. However, the neighbors are part of the Kai cult. Now is the Kai Cult the same as the Doctor Cult? Is this like west side story AHS version? They’ve burst into song on previous seasons, so it would not surprise me.

Lets talk names. Ivy, Winter, Meadow. Even Kai means Ocean in Hawaiian. And the doctor- Dr Rudy? Rudy means famed Wolf. A wolf in docs clothing maybe. Hmmmmmmm. I see on IMDB we will be getting a character named Serenity. Cult member? Probably.

Who is the mastermind behind the cult? Who is the leader? I think we have just scratched the surface.  Can’t wait for next week!!!!!

Book Review: The Selection by Kiera Cass

This is a young adult novel. I had heard good things, and decided to give it a go. This book is set in a future where the United States no longer exist. North America is now Illena and is ruled by a monarchy. The prince needs to find a wife, so they have a selection. Kind of a Hunger Games/Lottery type, but with catty bitches instead of people trying to kill each other. The story follows a Selection hopefully called America. She is in a lower caste (apparently they've gone to a caste system now) and she is selected in the bridal pool.

I could not put this book down. It wasn't all romance, it's about adjusting and coming to terms with heartbreak, and some suspicious activity. Why did the reporter have a weird star shaped broach? What are the rebels looking for?

I really enjoyed this book, and I'm about to start on the next in the series, The Elite.

Find it here: The Selection https://www.amazon.com/dp/0062059947/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_jiFVzb981J12J

I hate mornings too.

Devil baby hates to wake up. He's going to be one of those kids. I can see it now, the copious amounts of ice water I am going to have to throw on him, the yelling, the pleading, and the late days to work.  Without further ado, here's the foreshadowing.

Hurricane Harvey Fund

I don't know if you know, but my area was impacted by Hurricane Harvey. We were very fortunate, however, many of my Co-Workers and Friends were not. My employer has set up a GoFund Me for those associates who have lost everything. Link is below. If you can and want to help, please do so. You can even be anonymous!  The link is below.

They have really done so much for us, the support has been overwhelming. From arranging RVs for people to live, to arranging a truck for food. They also help gut homes. Thank you so much!!!

Kids are assholes.

There, I said it. Kids are assholes. It just gets worse, they don't sleep as babies, terrible twos, homework fights, puberty, teenage angst, and then the years you spend being a complete moron while they know everything. Kids are assholes. With every eyeroll and buuutttt moooooom, I think "asshole kids". It's become my mantra. Lately, Devil Baby, had been shhhhhhhing me every time I tell him something he doesn't want to do. I guess he thinks it's going to work. Maybe I'll try it out and see. The hubs wants me to make him a sammich? Shhhhhhhhh ha!! Now I love the little assholes, all four of them. They're a lot of fun, when they're not plotting against me or locking themselves in their rooms for whatever reason. Oh the angst!

Teenagers at the dentist.

Ok- I never understood the whole "Kids high on gas at the dentist" till I witnessed Dade throwing an imaginary throwing star at me. I was pretty entertained. I also enjoyed an entire conversation about clowns and their funny shows. Sadly I didn't film all of it. But enjoy this 30 seconds of imaginary throwing stars.

Ok- so I made a Disney tactical error- or 5.

I haven't really written much lately. I have been meaning to write this post for some time, but I haven't really had the heart. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Disney with the family, and it was important for us to be all together. I just, well, didn't have as much fun as expected.  Why you ask? And if you didn't, I'm writing anyway, so who cares?

1. Over planning. I am a self professed control freak. I love to be bossy. This time it bit me in the ass. I had too much planned for too many people. I didn't leave enough wiggle room, so when things went wrong it threw everything off.

2. Park Hopper. When we originally planned, the decision was to all stay together. Well, that's great, till we all discovered we had a lot of different interests. The boys all wanted to hang out in Star Wars land, and the girls wanted to enjoy Epcot. If we had a park hopper, we could have easily split the group up and met up later; this was we all had to stay together. Animal Kingdom was not a hit.

3. Sickness and Health. We all got hit with a Nuro virus. Puking, pooping, the worst. Next time I'm going to either call ahead and request a deep clean, take airborne or emergen-c, or Lysol the hell out of the room. Hell, maybe I'll do all 3. With the sickness we missed out on a loooooot.

4. Alternate plans. Next time I go with a large group, I'm going to make sure everyone has a copy of the itinerary and the Disney Experience App. When I was sick, there was no on leading the group and it fell apart. Have a second in command!

5. Rest Day, Rest Day, Rest Day. I wish I would have planned a day of nonsense where we could just rest by the pool or shop. It was too much, and we needed rest. The kids really wanted to spend more time in the pool, I don't really feel they enjoyed the parks as much.

All in all, it was a good trip, with a few hiccups. Next time, it will be better! The matching shirts were a hit!!!

Pooprints...

Potty training is Super fun. So today, Devil Baby decided to take his diaper off and poop on the floor. Then he stepped in it. Worst ever!

Hooked on a new book series

So I haven't been writing as much as I shout because I am just ate up with this new book series.  That's how they get you, they write such enjoyable books that you just can't get enough.  I bought this book on a whim, and it sat in my kindle library for a month or so. I picked it up the beginning of June. Now I'm on book 6 of the series and read 2 books of the adjoining series. I. Cannot. Put. Them. Down!

So- here we go. They're the Dowser series, it follows Jade a half witch as she tries to find herself, run a bakery, and deal with family issues.  Y'all enjoy!  Adjacent to the series is the Oracle series that includes characters from the Dowser series. Oh and if you join her fan page you can download a cupcake cook book for free. I cannot wait to try some of these recipes.

Who is this mysterious author? Meghan Ciana Doige

Book: Cupcakes, Trinkets, and Other Deadly Magic

Buy it here- the first book kindle version is free! They're addictive so get ready!  If you read these, tell me how you liked them!

I am writing this book review as a warning to others.

Godmother  By: Carolyn Turgeon

So this book was super misleading. Here is the amazon description.

"Description

Product Description

A new take on Cinderella, told from the perspective of the fairy godmother living in modern-day Manhattan

Lil is an old woman who spends her days shelving rare books in a tiny Manhattan bookstore and lonely nights at home in her apartment. But Lil has an intriguing secret. Tucked and bound behind her back are white feathery wings--the only key to who she once was: the fairy godmother responsible for getting Cinderella to the ball to unite with her Prince Charming.

But on that fateful night, something went terribly and beautifully wrong. Lil allowed herself the unthinkable: to feel the emotions of human beings and fall in love with the prince herself, going to the ball in place of Cinderella in her exquisitely gorgeous human guise. For her unforgivable mistake, she was banished to live among humans, far from her fairy sisters and their magical underwater world. But then one day she meets Veronica--a young, fair-skinned, flame-haired East Village beauty with a love of all things vintage and a penchant for falling in love with the wrong men--and suddenly it becomes clear to Lil that she’s been given a chance at redemption. If she can find a soul mate for Veronica, she may be able to right her wrong and return to the fairy world she so deeply longs for."

You know what I got? Was it a light hearted read about Cinderella from the Godmothers perspective? No! I got a depressing ass book that included an old lady masterbation scene (go on, Lil, you do you) and suicide. Is she a godmother? Or is she just a crazy old broad who cannot get over her sisters trauma? Who the hell knows? I know that I want that 2 hours of my life back. Shit- it was like that damn movie Atonement where at the end you find out everyone is just dead and it was all a damn lie. F you godmother. F you.

I feel fat cue the accessories!!

I've gained weight and am no longer comfortable with my body image. I'm also lazy and hate exercising and eating right, so yeah. Typical American. What can I say? I don't like vegetables. Pasta is life. Yeah well pasta is also my waist line now- and it's not even al dente.  So before I start my new "lifestyle change" next week I'll make due with a few fashion tips I've learned.

Tip one. Want to look skinnier? Big ass earrings. That's right, if they're bigger than a quarter, you look five pounds lighter. Boom.

Tip two. A higher heel. Even an inch or two will lengthen the legs and give you a taller, leaner look.

Tip three. Contour those cheek bones. Nothing says 'I'm not fat' than lovely cheek bones. So use a contour pallet and brush a darker color in the hollows of your checks. Highlight right above the cheek bones, and blush your apples. Boom. Instant skinny.

I'm doing all three of these today. My earrings are like a foot long. Ha!

Oh! Bonus tip! A big ass purse. The bigger the purse the smaller you look, see also the Olsen Twins.

I saw this and also thought it was an icecream sandwich. I need help- and a dietitian.

Book Review: Big Little Lies

I just finished reading Big Little Lies written by Liane Moriatry.

First; I loved all these characters. They were so real.

Second; this was a glacier book. Seemingly superficial, but with unsuspecting depth.

Third; I cried.

Rating: 13/10 would read again.

I cannot go into any more about this book, because I felt like it was kind of a surprise. I didn't expected to go the way it did and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I did not watch the show, so I can't compare it. I did love the book and would recommend to anyone.

Good Morning, friends!

I'm sorry, I've been busy reading. I started a book club, and joined 2 others so I've been a little preoccupied. Currently, I'm almost finished with Big Little Lies. I suggest you pick it up if you haven't already. The women are so Real, with real problems. They're totally relatable.

Now, to switch topics (ADD what what!) I wanted to leave you with a little fashion tidbit. A necklace always completes your look. You could put no effort into your look, throw in a necklace and BAM! Fabulous!!  Try it- it works.

Stay fabulous, friends!!!!

Scary Story!!

True story!

My car was parked outside because I had to unload groceries. After we were done I just left it out there thinking I'd pull it in to the garage later.  That night I pull it in (incidentally spent about 5 minutes trying to back it in to the garage and giving up in frustration - thanks complete inability to reverse even with back up cameras) and as I was easing into the garage what do you think I see? One of those big ass flying cockroaches scurrying up my windshield. What can I do?!? I'm stuck now- if I open the car door it's going to attack. I just know it is going to swoop down and get in my hair. Nope. I'm not getting out of the car. I live here now.

I look around for my phone- Drat!? It is in the house. I'm trapped forever. I can't even call the hubs to rescue me. I know he is just waiting for me.  Ah ha! Car Bluetooth is connected! So I call the hubs. Come rescue me! So he comes to the garage and checks the perimeter. Safe!

I still jump out of the car and run inside. I'm not taking any chances.

Easter madness

Ah Easter, the sweet sweet candy goodness. My word was it delicious. We had a glorious time being with family and once again eating. This year I tried something new and made a Neiman Marcus Butter Cake. May I say, freaking amazing? It's like a chess pie in a cake. It was also pretty easy. https://www.google.com/amp/www.food.com/amp/recipe/neiman-marcus-butter-cake-42069

It's very very rich so one piece will do you.

Daddy was victorious this year for the adult egg hunt. Did I mention he cheats? That old man likes to hit your basket so the eggs fall out and then he picks them up. It's pretty hilarious.

I think Adult egg hunt is the greatest. After the kids hunt they hide the eggs and watch all of us old people run around. It's pretty competitive- and fun! Makes you feel like a kid again.

Happy Easter to you and yours!

Eric running for some eggs- he dressed himself so nice for the occasion.

Book Review: Witches Be Crazy

This is probably the funniest book I have read in a long time. Dungar, the hero of the story, sets off on a quest to assasinate the poser queen. He meets Jiminimy along the way, a joyful, annoying character who has an interesting talent. Pirates, wizardry, and mayhem ensue.

The author really does a fantastic job incorporating some cultural aspects of today into his world of fantasy. It's absolutely fantastic.

10/10 would highly recommend.

Today's bit of philosophy: thanks random at Walmart.

Today I ran to purchase the various candies and goodies for the boys' Easter baskets. While I was contemplating mini Reese's cups versus the Twix eggs, this random woman comes up to me and says, "Eater has become too commercial and we have just let it happen!"

This was a clear case of ummmmm are you talking to me? Because I'm just sitting here enjoying the vast commercialism that is Cadbury Creme Eggs.  Why, Random Woman, did you choose to impart this special bit of wisdom on to me? Was it the unicorn leggings? Because I am NOT the sympathetic ear you are looking for. Move along now, carry on.  I enjoy Easter baskets and candy goodness- heaven help us all if I actually have to Pinterest/handmake anything because I am NOT that kind of mom. The Easter bunny would be reduce to a bunch of pictures from the Internet as an explanation of what could have been and a bunch of cash for consolation prizes.

Tarte: Swamp Girl Pallette

I may have mentioned before that I love love love Tarte brand cosmetics.  One of my recent purchases is the Swamp Girl pallet. It's really pretty and has become one of my go tos.

Look at those colors! You know what is awesome about Tarte? The pallettes usually include instructions for a day look and a night one! That is amazing.

Here is the finished product- I did the Day look

The only change I made is that I used Mancat as the top eyeliner.

Tarte: Believe Palette. Aka unicorn magic!

I love love love love Tarte. Their make up is fantastic. Recently they came out with this new eyeshadow palette- oh the unicorns and fairy dust. I am straight up in love. It is so fun! Look at the box!!

Pretty! I'll make believe in my self! I'm a unicorn/mermaid princess.

Look at these colors!

The middle is a highlighting powder. These are pretty decent pigment wise- the purple actually looks like purple and doesn't turn grey.

I love the way it shimmers. Very nice! 10/10 would recommend.

I am also wearing the Rose Gold Eyeliner from the same line.

Get it here!

I'm not a hairdresser aka save me Karla!!!!

I love my beautician. She's a beautiful person, both inside and out. You know those truly good people who are just pure of heart? She should be a Disney princess like for real. Anyway, I was challenged to dye my hair pink with 2 days notice. I am not one to back down from a challenge- even when Disney princess is booked solid.  So I am attempting to do this myself.  First step- my hair is pretty virginal right now. Hasn't been dyed in years so all of it is my natura (boring) color- dark brown. I'm gonna have to lighten it.  Cue girl at Sally's with advice. I still am not sure what I am doing.  Soap cap? This doesn't look right.  How do people do this who can't see? I'm gonna go get an old pair of glasses. These are new. Gonna rinse this mess in about 5 min.  Karla I love you I'll make an appointment next week to fix whatever hell I have wrought.  Biggest fear my color will only lift in places. You know I love experimenting with my hair- it's short so it really doesn't matter. I'll shave it off - again. Hahahah I'm a calico!!! Meow! I'm not a professional! I don't know what I am doing!  Jesus take the wheel! Here it goes. I had to get my son, Dade to assist since I can't see and I have t-Rex arms.  And now we wait.  Well. It's not pink. It's a red. It's pretty but not what I wanted.  I tried and I think it's fun. I've been wanting to go red again anyway. Karla, I'll be calling you!!!

Ouchies and Boo boos- Disney 911

No, this isn't about regular Disney info. This is what happens if you get hurt and need to go to the ER. If you're staying at the resort you can call the front desk who will transfer you to 911. They will pay for the ambulance. Disney has their Own paramedics on staff. We were taken to Celebration hospital. It was super clean and the staff was friendly. We were in and out within an hour. Everyone was amazing.  Side note: pillow forts and wrestling does not mix.

WDW Epcot character dining- The Garden Grill

The Garden Grill is in the Land Pavilion in Epcot. It's pretty cool; the resteraunt slowly rotates so you can see parts of the Living with the Land ride. The meal is served 'family style'. What is that? Well, that's when you don't order, they bring you a platter with a variety and you share. We had turkey and cornbread dressing, Italian sausage and corn on the cob, potroast and mashed potatoes. They also brought out a bunch of French fries and macaroni and cheese. Dessert was sugar cookies and strawberry shortcake. It was amazing. The best part was that it was a character meal. (If you are using a dining plan, this counted as one sit down dining credit.) Pluto, farmer Mickey, Chip, and Dale all stopped by our table and really interacted with us. They really took their time and made the meal a delight.  This was amazing. They happily posed for pictures, played with the kids, and signed autographs. It was so much fun! 10/10 would do again!

Tips for vacationing with small children.

1.  Always have the diaper bag. If you leave it with the stroller and you have a diaper blow out.... yeah.  2. Extra clothes. Not just for them- for you too. Walking around with barfume is not attractive.  3. Wipes wipes wipes. Have them. Use them. Get extras.  At EPCOT today killian decided that puking on his dad would be fun. (New shirt purchased) then he decided to have a diaper blow out on me. (New baby outfit purchased. Diaper bag was with the stroller) later he decided to puke on me. We left for the resort. Done. I was wearing chewed mac and cheese. It was lovely.

Let's talk Disney Dining Plans.

Walt DisneyWorld has a wonderful thing called dining plans. If you stay on property at one of their resorts you have the opportunity to purchase a dining plan. Benefits? Well, the opportunity to pre pay for your meals; one less thing to worry about and buget for.  Cons? Well, some people don't think it's worth it. Me? I say it depends on each family and their budget. I've done WDW on the cheap, where we brought pop tarts and made sandwiches in the room for lunch. I've also done the dining plan. So, it all depends on what you are wanting from your WDW vacation.  Is it worth it? Again, that depends on your budget and what you are looking for. Below is a screen shot of the recently released dining plan prices. There are 3 different dining plans. Think of it like gas, guilt gas, no guilt gas, and rich people gas.  What is a quick service meal, you ask? Well well well well, think of it like a Whataburger. Mmmmm Whataburger..... oh not from Texas? Too bad, you're missing out. Think of it like a Burger King but without a drive through. Go to the counter, order, get food and sit.  Standard fare is usually hamburgers and stuff like that.  What is a snack? Like a ice cream bar, a 20 oz soda, stuff like that. It's usually marked with a special sign like this.  So is it worth it? I don't know, so let's do math. Boo. I'm planning a Disney trip (don't worry, you'll hear all about it. So let's price out one of the days I have planned. Do you know how bummed I'm going to be if it's not worth it?  We have the No Guilt Gas version of the dining plan.  Ok we are staying at Saratoga Springs, and are planning on eating breakfast at the Artist's Pallet.  I ain't gonna lie, the Bounty Breakfast Platter looks good. (This counts as my Quick service) $11.49 Our first day we're going to Epcot. I'll probably head to the Showcase Plaza for my snacks.  Hell yeah waffle cone! $4.19 & a Croissant Donught!  $6.29 Now we are going back to the room during the heat of the day for rest and lunch. We are making sandwiches because for us, we need big breakfasts and light lunches. It doesn't work for everyone; but it works for us.  Back to Epcot. We have reservations (make them 180 days in advance!!!!!!!) at the Garden Grill at 4:00. Did you know that the Garden Grill is a cheater meal that counts as a regular dining credit? That's right! It's a twofer, baby! Chip & Dale, we're coming!!!  Now this one is tricky because the price of the restaurant varies by time of the year & day of the week.  It's like a hotel!  Now according to this awesome site, allears.net it could be 37.97-45.00 per meal.  So let's go with the cheaper, we're going during off season on a Sunday.  Now math. Groan 11.49+4.19+6.29+37.97= 59.94  Well well. Looks like the dining plan is more expensive at $69.35 per adult.  Even if Garden Grill was the more expensive option at $45; it still comes out to $66.97.  I guess where you really come ahead is for the children.   Their breakfast is $4.99. Snacks, let's do the same because kids are greedy. $4.19 & $6.29. Garden Grill for kids is $19.10-$27.00.  So let's do it cheap.  $34.57. The price for a child's dining plan is $24.95. So there's that extra 10 bucks. I guess if you have 2 kids 2 adults it works out perfectly.  It just depends on what you are looking for.  Personally, I like the dining plan. Pre paying for a meal is always a win for me. Even on vacation it is easy to get sticker shock.  Dining plans must be purchased for every memeber of your party, every night of your stay. They do not include tips, so be sure to bring so cash for your servers. If you don't use it, you lose it, so plan accordingly! If you don't use all your snack credits hit the resort food court and stock up for the ride. Don't let it go to waste!! Let it go to waist instead! Yukka yukka.  Special thanks to allears.net! They have all the menus with prices for all the food areas! Check it out! http://allears.net/ They're also a great panning resource. ;)

Fun with Glasses

Fun times! I've often said that glasses and accessories should tell a story. I find that this pair tells the story of a woman gone mad.  And side view- spoiler alert there's roses.  I ain't gonna lie these were super fun. But, too overpowering on my face.  True story- I'm in the exam room and trying to make out the letters. This phrase actually cam out of my mouth: "It's like a 3 but backwards." E. The letter I am looking for is E.  Can someone please tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Walt Disney World Planning Tips

I may have mentioned a time or twelve that I love Disney.  WDW is YUGE. It consists of 4 major theme parks and 2 water parks. It also has a pretty awesome downtown area called Disney Springs. Needless to say, it can get pretty overwhelming.  When planning a trip to WDW my first step is to buy this book.  Sorry Bob & Len I covered your names. Don't worry- buy it here  https://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-Guide-Walt-Disney-World-ebook/dp/B01I8S7FG2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487769026&sr=8-1&keywords=the+unofficial+guide+to+walt+disney+world+2017 It is my Disney bible. My dad used it when we went as kids 20 years ago and I use it still. Trust me- there is valuable information. A comparison of hotels- both off site and on. A list of how long the Disney buses will take from each resort vs your car. A brief synopsis on rides. Advice on fastpasses.  It has a companion website which is like $13 a year. WORTH IT!!!!   https://touringplans.com You can customize your own touring plans. I make an itinerary for every park. You put in your dining plans, fast pass info, and rides/shows and boom! You now have an itinerary based on the shorted wait time. Freaking amazing. Last time I used it the longest line wait was 45 minutes.  The real benefit is that WDW is a total immersion experience. You can get overwhelmed quick. If you don't have a plan you're spending most of your time trying to look at a map and figure out what to do next. With a little preplanning you can avoid all that hassle - and lines!!!

Glasses time

If you're a long time reader you know I wear glasses. If you're a new reader, welcome! Catch up on glasses here http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/06/glasses-don-be-afraid-of-color.html?m=1 And here http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/05/fashion-friday-finding-vintage-eye-frame.html?m=1 And here  http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/05/fashion-friday-who-says-glasses-have-to.html?m=1 So now it's my annual eye appointment. Spoiler alert I was rescheduled for tomorrow. Boo. While I was there I decided to do some shopping. There are a lot of cute frames. I really liked these by Michael Khors. They're clear with sides that look both blue or purple depending on the light.  So cute!!! Till I was told they look like safety glasses. Boo. I work in a plant safety glasses are a staple here. We cannot look like everyone else; what's the point of finding funky frames? These tell a story. I do not want the story to be sir works a lot.  Now what about these? They fit my usual criteria, fun, funky, and stands out. I really like them.  The story they tell are: hey she's fun! But I like these too... They're soft. Pretty.  So which ones do I choose? And here we come to the point. You don't have to buy right then. You don't have to buy from there. Shop around. Take selfies. Know what you are looking for. You have to wear these pretty regularly so don't settle. I did that last time and you know what? I rarely wear that pair because I don't really like them.  Make sure you get something you love and that you feel comfortable in. And when you get them in and if the scripts a little off; don't be shy tell them! It's their job to make sure you are comfortable. You are paying for a service. Use it, and your money, wisely.

Disney planning. Disney Vacation Account.

I love Disney. I try to go at least once a year. No, it's not impossible; you just have to budget and plan! Did you know there is a Disney Vacation Account? You can have so much auto debited each week or whatever and it is in a Disney account. It will help you plan for how much you think you will need. For every $1000 you spend on a Disney vacation you can redeem 20$ in gift cards. It's great. Plus you can request you money back at any time so it's really a win win.  I've actually had an account for years. I just used it for the first time this trip and it was super easy. To pay I just used the automatic phone system and processed as a gift card. Then once my vacation was paid, I redeemed the gift cards. It took about 3-4 weeks to receive.  10/10 will definitely use again.  Get yours here  https://disneyvacationaccount.disney.go.com/

The great mascara search is OVER!!!!!

Finally! It's only taken several different brands, and I have finally found something that has filled all my criteria. What is this miracle mascara? Sephora LashCraft length and volume mascara.  Ordinary wand- not anything special but look! Lengthens and separated nicely, no clumps! I was so impressed I took a picture with both eyes done. (Yes that's the bite all in one stick in cashews on my eyes) Here is the results 12+ hours later.  Magic! No smudging. No fall out. I don't look like a raccoon! I'm so impressed. I removed with eye make up remover. Came off pretty easily. Take my money!!! Thanks Sephora!! Emerald city. Wtf, witches?

I love this show- mainly because it seems like all the women are strong characters.  Well- until today. Why does there have to be a damn Glinda/roan-Lucas/Dorthy love triangle? Why is that even nessescary? Why does there have to be a love interest? West wants her mommy. Glinda wants Roan. Dorthy wants to go home with Lucas.  Langwidere wants Jack to be her kept boy. Tip just wants to be a boy. Lots of tears. Everyone's ate up with a damn boy. I could have done without all this dick drama. Witches Unite and Kick the Pricks ass!  http://www.nbc.com/emerald-city Spoiler alert- Eamonn is the damn lion. You're welcome.

The Great Mascara search: Tarte; Lights, Camera, Lashes.

I am a HUGE fan of Tarte. I love the brand! The foundation is clay based, so if you're oily it stays on. I have a problem where my face just eats make up. I used to wear M. A. C. at the end of the day I had nothing left. So Tarte - amazing and- cruelty free! Yes, no testing on the bunnies!   Here's the wand. Nice bristle action. I like the bottle brush types of wands.  Application: Very nice. Lashes are long and separated.  End of the day- yikes. First I look scary. Best I see some flake off and smudging.  Removal was fast and easy- I thought I had gotten it all, but I woke up with smudges. How does that happen? http://m.sephora.com/product/P111902?icid2=skugrid Verdict 6/10.

200th y'all!

Good morning, readers! I was going to make another post about my adventures in mascara. Too bad. I realized this is the 200th post of The Care C! We've come a long way, baby! I originally started this blog so I could review books. It has grown to where we review and/or judge, well, pretty much everything. I took quite a bit of time off dealing with Devil Baby. I'm glad things are settling down again. Thank you for staying with me. If you're new, thank you for checking us out! Hope you stick around, it's gonna be fun!!!!! Xoxo S.

The great mascara search- Mary Kay Lash Intensity

Sorry for the late post- I was lazy. Yesterday I used Mary Kay Lash intensity. First let me start off in saying this is not an everyday mascara, this is a going out mascara.  First the wand has 2 different bristles. You use the first set (with your finger on the Mary Kay) and then turn it to the side and use the second set of bristles. I'm out already. That's way too much concentration in the morning.  My lashes are fantastic. They look fake. It's amazing.  After all day - I will in all fairness disclose that my allergies are kicking my ass and I have been rubbing my eyes all day.  Lots of smudging.  Verdict Daily wear: 2/10 Going out usage: 10/10 This will be my go to event mascara.  Get it here: https://www.marykay.com/kayleighroy18

The great mascara search- Urban Decay Perversion

Today I tried the Urban Decay Perversion mascara.  It was promising at first... Nice lush lashes, no sticky.  But- at the end of the day I looked like a raccoon. Terrible.  And- to add insult to injury it took forever to take off. Jeez.  2/10 http://m.sephora.com/product/P387956?icid2=skugrid&skuId=1635770

The Grammys! We watch so you don't have to!

Grammys tonight! I love the Grammy's. The fashion is fantastic; so rock n roll. My favorite part is the performances. Honestly, I watch everything else in fast forward.  The show opened with Adele singing Hello. That woman has an amazing voice.   James Corden was the host this time. His lift didn't work so he just climbed up and then fell down the stairs. Pretty funny.  Let's take a minute to talk about J-lo's dress. Honey, no. My pretty in pink barbie from the 80s wore it better.   The Weekend performed and lo! Is that Daft Punk? Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood performed a duet.  Ed Sheerean was up next.   And another duet by two more nominees. I'm sorry I am not familiar with them. They weren't bad, more on the country side.   All hail the Queen! Queen B! Her performance was ethereal. I loved the tribute to motherhood. If the twins are a boy and a girl I bet she names them Apollo and Diana.  After that was Bruno Mars. He had a small set, but still rocked the choreography  Let's talk about Katy Perry. First I didn't even recognize her. Her signature look- gone. I don't even think it sounded like her. I thought it was Ellie Goulding!  She debuted her new song; it was nice- but I had no idea it was her.  My sound on the transmission kept cutting out so I missed a bunch.  I caught some of Maren Morris and Alicia Keys. The set reminded me of a vampire show. I really liked the way they complimented each other.  Ed Sheehan performed and so did a few others.  I had it written up but when I tried to save it killed the post and I lost it.  Adele sung a duet to George Michael. She messed up and started over. I freaking love that. She's so real.  Lady GaGa and Metallica.  I am not a Metallica fan and never have been. James Hatfelid's mic wasn't even on. So Gaga sang and then nothing. Then GaGa and nothing. GaGa gave it her all as usual; but she didn't have the foggiest clue how to dance to this.  Stergill Stewart was next.  Next was a Beegees tribute with Demi Lavato, Tori Kelly and Little Big Town and Andra Day (love her she had a fantastic voice!) There was a target commercial with Carley Rae Jepson and lil yachty.  A Tribe Called Quest ended the show.  Fantastic! I loved the performances.

The Great Mascara Search- Stila huge lash.

So today I tried Stila Huge Lash. Put it on and went shopping. Only tried on one shirt so it wasn't a lot of over head action. I liked the way it looked in the morning, but as you can see the end results are rather underwhelming.  So here's the wand.  I have used this one before; I've just never really paid attention to it.  Initial application It really lengthens.  After all day wear: That is some smudging and fall out.  Not for all day use: use with caution. Half a days use at best.  Rating 4/10  http://m.sephora.com/huge-extreme-lash-mascara-P397901
