I am writing this book review as a warning to others.

Product Description

A new take on Cinderella, told from the perspective of the fairy godmother living in modern-day Manhattan

Lil is an old woman who spends her days shelving rare books in a tiny Manhattan bookstore and lonely nights at home in her apartment. But Lil has an intriguing secret. Tucked and bound behind her back are white feathery wings--the only key to who she once was: the fairy godmother responsible for getting Cinderella to the ball to unite with her Prince Charming.

But on that fateful night, something went terribly and beautifully wrong. Lil allowed herself the unthinkable: to feel the emotions of human beings and fall in love with the prince herself, going to the ball in place of Cinderella in her exquisitely gorgeous human guise. For her unforgivable mistake, she was banished to live among humans, far from her fairy sisters and their magical underwater world. But then one day she meets Veronica--a young, fair-skinned, flame-haired East Village beauty with a love of all things vintage and a penchant for falling in love with the wrong men--and suddenly it becomes clear to Lil that she’s been given a chance at redemption. If she can find a soul mate for Veronica, she may be able to right her wrong and return to the fairy world she so deeply longs for."

You know what I got? Was it a light hearted read about Cinderella from the Godmothers perspective? No! I got a depressing ass book that included an old lady masterbation scene (go on, Lil, you do you) and suicide. Is she a godmother? Or is she just a crazy old broad who cannot get over her sisters trauma? Who the hell knows? I know that I want that 2 hours of my life back. Shit- it was like that damn movie Atonement where at the end you find out everyone is just dead and it was all a damn lie. F you godmother. F you.

I feel fat cue the accessories!!

I've gained weight and am no longer comfortable with my body image. I'm also lazy and hate exercising and eating right, so yeah. Typical American. What can I say? I don't like vegetables. Pasta is life. Yeah well pasta is also my waist line now- and it's not even al dente.  So before I start my new "lifestyle change" next week I'll make due with a few fashion tips I've learned.

Tip one. Want to look skinnier? Big ass earrings. That's right, if they're bigger than a quarter, you look five pounds lighter. Boom.

Tip two. A higher heel. Even an inch or two will lengthen the legs and give you a taller, leaner look.

Tip three. Contour those cheek bones. Nothing says 'I'm not fat' than lovely cheek bones. So use a contour pallet and brush a darker color in the hollows of your checks. Highlight right above the cheek bones, and blush your apples. Boom. Instant skinny.

I'm doing all three of these today. My earrings are like a foot long. Ha!

Oh! Bonus tip! A big ass purse. The bigger the purse the smaller you look, see also the Olsen Twins.

I saw this and also thought it was an icecream sandwich. I need help- and a dietitian.

Book Review: Big Little Lies

I just finished reading Big Little Lies written by Liane Moriatry.

First; I loved all these characters. They were so real.

Second; this was a glacier book. Seemingly superficial, but with unsuspecting depth.

Third; I cried.

Rating: 13/10 would read again.

I cannot go into any more about this book, because I felt like it was kind of a surprise. I didn't expected to go the way it did and I don't want to ruin it for anyone. I did not watch the show, so I can't compare it. I did love the book and would recommend to anyone.

Good Morning, friends!

I'm sorry, I've been busy reading. I started a book club, and joined 2 others so I've been a little preoccupied. Currently, I'm almost finished with Big Little Lies. I suggest you pick it up if you haven't already. The women are so Real, with real problems. They're totally relatable.

Now, to switch topics (ADD what what!) I wanted to leave you with a little fashion tidbit. A necklace always completes your look. You could put no effort into your look, throw in a necklace and BAM! Fabulous!!  Try it- it works.

Stay fabulous, friends!!!!
