Ouchies and Boo boos- Disney 911

No, this isn't about regular Disney info. This is what happens if you get hurt and need to go to the ER. If you're staying at the resort you can call the front desk who will transfer you to 911. They will pay for the ambulance. Disney has their Own paramedics on staff. We were taken to Celebration hospital. It was super clean and the staff was friendly. We were in and out within an hour. Everyone was amazing.  Side note: pillow forts and wrestling does not mix.

WDW Epcot character dining- The Garden Grill

The Garden Grill is in the Land Pavilion in Epcot. It's pretty cool; the resteraunt slowly rotates so you can see parts of the Living with the Land ride. The meal is served 'family style'. What is that? Well, that's when you don't order, they bring you a platter with a variety and you share. We had turkey and cornbread dressing, Italian sausage and corn on the cob, potroast and mashed potatoes. They also brought out a bunch of French fries and macaroni and cheese. Dessert was sugar cookies and strawberry shortcake. It was amazing. The best part was that it was a character meal. (If you are using a dining plan, this counted as one sit down dining credit.) Pluto, farmer Mickey, Chip, and Dale all stopped by our table and really interacted with us. They really took their time and made the meal a delight.  This was amazing. They happily posed for pictures, played with the kids, and signed autographs. It was so much fun! 10/10 would do again!

Tips for vacationing with small children.

1.  Always have the diaper bag. If you leave it with the stroller and you have a diaper blow out.... yeah.  2. Extra clothes. Not just for them- for you too. Walking around with barfume is not attractive.  3. Wipes wipes wipes. Have them. Use them. Get extras.  At EPCOT today killian decided that puking on his dad would be fun. (New shirt purchased) then he decided to have a diaper blow out on me. (New baby outfit purchased. Diaper bag was with the stroller) later he decided to puke on me. We left for the resort. Done. I was wearing chewed mac and cheese. It was lovely.

Let's talk Disney Dining Plans.

Walt DisneyWorld has a wonderful thing called dining plans. If you stay on property at one of their resorts you have the opportunity to purchase a dining plan. Benefits? Well, the opportunity to pre pay for your meals; one less thing to worry about and buget for.  Cons? Well, some people don't think it's worth it. Me? I say it depends on each family and their budget. I've done WDW on the cheap, where we brought pop tarts and made sandwiches in the room for lunch. I've also done the dining plan. So, it all depends on what you are wanting from your WDW vacation.  Is it worth it? Again, that depends on your budget and what you are looking for. Below is a screen shot of the recently released dining plan prices. There are 3 different dining plans. Think of it like gas, guilt gas, no guilt gas, and rich people gas.  What is a quick service meal, you ask? Well well well well, think of it like a Whataburger. Mmmmm Whataburger..... oh not from Texas? Too bad, you're missing out. Think of it like a Burger King but without a drive through. Go to the counter, order, get food and sit.  Standard fare is usually hamburgers and stuff like that.  What is a snack? Like a ice cream bar, a 20 oz soda, stuff like that. It's usually marked with a special sign like this.  So is it worth it? I don't know, so let's do math. Boo. I'm planning a Disney trip (don't worry, you'll hear all about it. So let's price out one of the days I have planned. Do you know how bummed I'm going to be if it's not worth it?  We have the No Guilt Gas version of the dining plan.  Ok we are staying at Saratoga Springs, and are planning on eating breakfast at the Artist's Pallet.  I ain't gonna lie, the Bounty Breakfast Platter looks good. (This counts as my Quick service) $11.49 Our first day we're going to Epcot. I'll probably head to the Showcase Plaza for my snacks.  Hell yeah waffle cone! $4.19 & a Croissant Donught!  $6.29 Now we are going back to the room during the heat of the day for rest and lunch. We are making sandwiches because for us, we need big breakfasts and light lunches. It doesn't work for everyone; but it works for us.  Back to Epcot. We have reservations (make them 180 days in advance!!!!!!!) at the Garden Grill at 4:00. Did you know that the Garden Grill is a cheater meal that counts as a regular dining credit? That's right! It's a twofer, baby! Chip & Dale, we're coming!!!  Now this one is tricky because the price of the restaurant varies by time of the year & day of the week.  It's like a hotel!  Now according to this awesome site, allears.net it could be 37.97-45.00 per meal.  So let's go with the cheaper, we're going during off season on a Sunday.  Now math. Groan 11.49+4.19+6.29+37.97= 59.94  Well well. Looks like the dining plan is more expensive at $69.35 per adult.  Even if Garden Grill was the more expensive option at $45; it still comes out to $66.97.  I guess where you really come ahead is for the children.   Their breakfast is $4.99. Snacks, let's do the same because kids are greedy. $4.19 & $6.29. Garden Grill for kids is $19.10-$27.00.  So let's do it cheap.  $34.57. The price for a child's dining plan is $24.95. So there's that extra 10 bucks. I guess if you have 2 kids 2 adults it works out perfectly.  It just depends on what you are looking for.  Personally, I like the dining plan. Pre paying for a meal is always a win for me. Even on vacation it is easy to get sticker shock.  Dining plans must be purchased for every memeber of your party, every night of your stay. They do not include tips, so be sure to bring so cash for your servers. If you don't use it, you lose it, so plan accordingly! If you don't use all your snack credits hit the resort food court and stock up for the ride. Don't let it go to waste!! Let it go to waist instead! Yukka yukka.  Special thanks to allears.net! They have all the menus with prices for all the food areas! Check it out! http://allears.net/ They're also a great panning resource. ;)

Fun with Glasses

Fun times! I've often said that glasses and accessories should tell a story. I find that this pair tells the story of a woman gone mad.  And side view- spoiler alert there's roses.  I ain't gonna lie these were super fun. But, too overpowering on my face.  True story- I'm in the exam room and trying to make out the letters. This phrase actually cam out of my mouth: "It's like a 3 but backwards." E. The letter I am looking for is E.  Can someone please tell me how to get to Sesame Street?

Walt Disney World Planning Tips

I may have mentioned a time or twelve that I love Disney.  WDW is YUGE. It consists of 4 major theme parks and 2 water parks. It also has a pretty awesome downtown area called Disney Springs. Needless to say, it can get pretty overwhelming.  When planning a trip to WDW my first step is to buy this book.  Sorry Bob & Len I covered your names. Don't worry- buy it here  https://www.amazon.com/Unofficial-Guide-Walt-Disney-World-ebook/dp/B01I8S7FG2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487769026&sr=8-1&keywords=the+unofficial+guide+to+walt+disney+world+2017 It is my Disney bible. My dad used it when we went as kids 20 years ago and I use it still. Trust me- there is valuable information. A comparison of hotels- both off site and on. A list of how long the Disney buses will take from each resort vs your car. A brief synopsis on rides. Advice on fastpasses.  It has a companion website which is like $13 a year. WORTH IT!!!!   https://touringplans.com You can customize your own touring plans. I make an itinerary for every park. You put in your dining plans, fast pass info, and rides/shows and boom! You now have an itinerary based on the shorted wait time. Freaking amazing. Last time I used it the longest line wait was 45 minutes.  The real benefit is that WDW is a total immersion experience. You can get overwhelmed quick. If you don't have a plan you're spending most of your time trying to look at a map and figure out what to do next. With a little preplanning you can avoid all that hassle - and lines!!!

Glasses time

If you're a long time reader you know I wear glasses. If you're a new reader, welcome! Catch up on glasses here http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/06/glasses-don-be-afraid-of-color.html?m=1 And here http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/05/fashion-friday-finding-vintage-eye-frame.html?m=1 And here  http://thecarec.blogspot.com/2015/05/fashion-friday-who-says-glasses-have-to.html?m=1 So now it's my annual eye appointment. Spoiler alert I was rescheduled for tomorrow. Boo. While I was there I decided to do some shopping. There are a lot of cute frames. I really liked these by Michael Khors. They're clear with sides that look both blue or purple depending on the light.  So cute!!! Till I was told they look like safety glasses. Boo. I work in a plant safety glasses are a staple here. We cannot look like everyone else; what's the point of finding funky frames? These tell a story. I do not want the story to be sir works a lot.  Now what about these? They fit my usual criteria, fun, funky, and stands out. I really like them.  The story they tell are: hey she's fun! But I like these too... They're soft. Pretty.  So which ones do I choose? And here we come to the point. You don't have to buy right then. You don't have to buy from there. Shop around. Take selfies. Know what you are looking for. You have to wear these pretty regularly so don't settle. I did that last time and you know what? I rarely wear that pair because I don't really like them.  Make sure you get something you love and that you feel comfortable in. And when you get them in and if the scripts a little off; don't be shy tell them! It's their job to make sure you are comfortable. You are paying for a service. Use it, and your money, wisely.

Disney planning. Disney Vacation Account.

I love Disney. I try to go at least once a year. No, it's not impossible; you just have to budget and plan! Did you know there is a Disney Vacation Account? You can have so much auto debited each week or whatever and it is in a Disney account. It will help you plan for how much you think you will need. For every $1000 you spend on a Disney vacation you can redeem 20$ in gift cards. It's great. Plus you can request you money back at any time so it's really a win win.  I've actually had an account for years. I just used it for the first time this trip and it was super easy. To pay I just used the automatic phone system and processed as a gift card. Then once my vacation was paid, I redeemed the gift cards. It took about 3-4 weeks to receive.  10/10 will definitely use again.  Get yours here  https://disneyvacationaccount.disney.go.com/

The great mascara search is OVER!!!!!

Finally! It's only taken several different brands, and I have finally found something that has filled all my criteria. What is this miracle mascara? Sephora LashCraft length and volume mascara.  Ordinary wand- not anything special but look! Lengthens and separated nicely, no clumps! I was so impressed I took a picture with both eyes done. (Yes that's the bite all in one stick in cashews on my eyes) Here is the results 12+ hours later.  Magic! No smudging. No fall out. I don't look like a raccoon! I'm so impressed. I removed with eye make up remover. Came off pretty easily. Take my money!!! Thanks Sephora!! Get it here: http://m.sephora.com/lashcraft-length-volume-mascara-P408602?skuId=1794478 Are you a Sephora ViB? Why not? So many points, so many rewards!!!!

Emerald city. Wtf, witches?

I love this show- mainly because it seems like all the women are strong characters.  Well- until today. Why does there have to be a damn Glinda/roan-Lucas/Dorthy love triangle? Why is that even nessescary? Why does there have to be a love interest? West wants her mommy. Glinda wants Roan. Dorthy wants to go home with Lucas.  Langwidere wants Jack to be her kept boy. Tip just wants to be a boy. Lots of tears. Everyone's ate up with a damn boy. I could have done without all this dick drama. Witches Unite and Kick the Pricks ass!  http://www.nbc.com/emerald-city Spoiler alert- Eamonn is the damn lion. You're welcome.

The Great Mascara search: Tarte; Lights, Camera, Lashes.

I am a HUGE fan of Tarte. I love the brand! The foundation is clay based, so if you're oily it stays on. I have a problem where my face just eats make up. I used to wear M. A. C. at the end of the day I had nothing left. So Tarte - amazing and- cruelty free! Yes, no testing on the bunnies!   Here's the wand. Nice bristle action. I like the bottle brush types of wands.  Application: Very nice. Lashes are long and separated.  End of the day- yikes. First I look scary. Best I see some flake off and smudging.  Removal was fast and easy- I thought I had gotten it all, but I woke up with smudges. How does that happen? http://m.sephora.com/product/P111902?icid2=skugrid Verdict 6/10.

200th y'all!

Good morning, readers! I was going to make another post about my adventures in mascara. Too bad. I realized this is the 200th post of The Care C! We've come a long way, baby! I originally started this blog so I could review books. It has grown to where we review and/or judge, well, pretty much everything. I took quite a bit of time off dealing with Devil Baby. I'm glad things are settling down again. Thank you for staying with me. If you're new, thank you for checking us out! Hope you stick around, it's gonna be fun!!!!! Xoxo S.

The great mascara search- Mary Kay Lash Intensity

Sorry for the late post- I was lazy. Yesterday I used Mary Kay Lash intensity. First let me start off in saying this is not an everyday mascara, this is a going out mascara.  First the wand has 2 different bristles. You use the first set (with your finger on the Mary Kay) and then turn it to the side and use the second set of bristles. I'm out already. That's way too much concentration in the morning.  My lashes are fantastic. They look fake. It's amazing.  After all day - I will in all fairness disclose that my allergies are kicking my ass and I have been rubbing my eyes all day.  Lots of smudging.  Verdict Daily wear: 2/10 Going out usage: 10/10 This will be my go to event mascara.  Get it here: https://www.marykay.com/kayleighroy18

The great mascara search- Urban Decay Perversion

Today I tried the Urban Decay Perversion mascara.  It was promising at first... Nice lush lashes, no sticky.  But- at the end of the day I looked like a raccoon. Terrible.  And- to add insult to injury it took forever to take off. Jeez.  2/10 http://m.sephora.com/product/P387956?icid2=skugrid&skuId=1635770

The Grammys! We watch so you don't have to!

Grammys tonight! I love the Grammy's. The fashion is fantastic; so rock n roll. My favorite part is the performances. Honestly, I watch everything else in fast forward.  The show opened with Adele singing Hello. That woman has an amazing voice.   James Corden was the host this time. His lift didn't work so he just climbed up and then fell down the stairs. Pretty funny.  Let's take a minute to talk about J-lo's dress. Honey, no. My pretty in pink barbie from the 80s wore it better.   The Weekend performed and lo! Is that Daft Punk? Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood performed a duet.  Ed Sheerean was up next.   And another duet by two more nominees. I'm sorry I am not familiar with them. They weren't bad, more on the country side.   All hail the Queen! Queen B! Her performance was ethereal. I loved the tribute to motherhood. If the twins are a boy and a girl I bet she names them Apollo and Diana.  After that was Bruno Mars. He had a small set, but still rocked the choreography  Let's talk about Katy Perry. First I didn't even recognize her. Her signature look- gone. I don't even think it sounded like her. I thought it was Ellie Goulding!  She debuted her new song; it was nice- but I had no idea it was her.  My sound on the transmission kept cutting out so I missed a bunch.  I caught some of Maren Morris and Alicia Keys. The set reminded me of a vampire show. I really liked the way they complimented each other.  Ed Sheehan performed and so did a few others.  I had it written up but when I tried to save it killed the post and I lost it.  Adele sung a duet to George Michael. She messed up and started over. I freaking love that. She's so real.  Lady GaGa and Metallica.  I am not a Metallica fan and never have been. James Hatfelid's mic wasn't even on. So Gaga sang and then nothing. Then GaGa and nothing. GaGa gave it her all as usual; but she didn't have the foggiest clue how to dance to this.  Stergill Stewart was next.  Next was a Beegees tribute with Demi Lavato, Tori Kelly and Little Big Town and Andra Day (love her she had a fantastic voice!) There was a target commercial with Carley Rae Jepson and lil yachty.  A Tribe Called Quest ended the show.  Fantastic! I loved the performances.

The Great Mascara Search- Stila huge lash.

So today I tried Stila Huge Lash. Put it on and went shopping. Only tried on one shirt so it wasn't a lot of over head action. I liked the way it looked in the morning, but as you can see the end results are rather underwhelming.  So here's the wand.  I have used this one before; I've just never really paid attention to it.  Initial application It really lengthens.  After all day wear: That is some smudging and fall out.  Not for all day use: use with caution. Half a days use at best.  Rating 4/10  http://m.sephora.com/huge-extreme-lash-mascara-P397901

Are you watching Emerald City?!

Um hello? This is a fantastic show on NBC. It's a modern day wizard of oz- without all the singing. It's so good! Is Glinda a good witch or a bad one? Why is the Wizard such an ass? Is Tip Ozma? What's the deal with the masked queen? Only 3 episodes left? Is this a mini series? Love the gauntlets! What the hell is the 'beast forever' ? This show is so good! The set design is amazing!  Those of you who watch- did you find this last episode a bit slow? I'm sure the next few will be action packed.   http://www.nbc.com/emerald-city

The great mascara search- They're Real by Benefits

Today I used They're Real lengthing mascara. And lengthen it did! This mascara is pretty amazing. I wore all day today, took a car ride, brought kids to the windy park (yes I went 0utside!) and had a busy day. This lasted all day with no fall out or smudging. The one con about this is towards the end of the day my lashes stuck together. When I blinked it seemed like they were sticky. Pretty gross.   Rating: 9/10 As previous I took the picture with only one eye done so you have an easy comparison.  Where to buy http://m.sephora.com/product/P289307?icid2=skugrid&skuId=1343938

*** updated** The great mascara search- Mary Kay Ultimate

Good morning! Today we are going to try the Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara.  Here's the wand. Nice curve to it.  Goes on ok not that smoothly, but ok.  Here we are. It's a bit clumpy, but my lashes look long and fabulous.  I will update you on the wear at the end of the day.  Find it here: http://www.marykay.com/kayleighroy18 *** update*** End of day; lashes still look fabulous. A little bit of fall out; not as mush as the previous one. If this is all after all day wear then I am happy. Rating- 8/10.

** updated** The great mascara search. Bobbi Brown smokey eye

I have the hardest time finding a great mascara. I have a million samples and I think it is time to put them to the test to see which one is the best. The will be graded on the following criteria; length, darkness, smudge ability, and duration. Major deductions if they flake.  Today I am going to use Bobbi Brown smokey eye mascara. http://m.sephora.com/product/P382581?skuId=1562024 There's the wand. Not too fancy.  Ok here it is. I took the picture with only one eye done so we can compare to naked lashes. I will update this afternoon to see if we have any flake off.  ** update** We have flaking and fall out. It's not quite noon Verdict- gave it a good try, but lots of smudging. Would wear to a luncheon or a baby shower or something. Not good for every day use. Pros: held up well. Lashes still nice and separate. No clumping. Cons: smudge; fall out.  Score: 6/10.

Why Bath and Body Works?

I went shopping this weekend. Was just going to window shop; I'm in lockdown till after our DisneyWorld trip in a few weeks. Anyway, stopped into Bath and Body Works. They had the most fantastic scent in there. Smelled like a gigantic lemon sugar cookie. Smelled so crisp and fresh and lemony! I just loved it. Lemonchello is its name. Fabulous- and of course it comes in a candle, shower gel, lotion, body creme... yeah. I'm $50 lighter. Thanks BBW.

http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=34778596&cm_vc=200&&MobileOptOut=1

I have a hard time with scents. Allergies- thanks genetics. Anyway, I can't do florals. I can do citrus scents so I am super pumped about this one.

KJ likes!

Kj doesn't like much. Her had a few toys that he really enjoys. He's an old grouch.  So here's my review of the 5 sided activity cube. Link below for Amazon. .

First it has a shape sorter on one side. Pretty cool. Next it has a piano keyboard so you can play some cool tunes. On each key there's an animal face and it asks you some questions.  On the top is an arrow that can point to several animals. All in all it's pretty darn cute.

Favorite super bowl commercials!

While we waited for the Lady GaGa show- we had to watch some reality show; I don't know I didn't really follow. Anyway, there were several cute commercials, several lame commercials, and several wtf are the doing here commercials. I graded on three criteria; humour, audience appeal, and awww factor. Extra points if they were not political.

Lamest Commercial: H&R Block and Watson.  Some super it stuff to help you do taxes. Big wooo. Quote from my dad, "It's just taxes, come on!" 1/10.

Poorest use of a celebrity: Justin Bieber in the football dance. So lame, I don't even remember what They were selling and I took notes. They tried and failed miserably to be funny. 0/10

Now on to the best. They were three that really stood out for me. So I'll save the best for last.

Best Slapstick: Melissa McCarthy in Kia. She basically tried to save the world by fails miserably. 8/10

Best Hahaha and WTF moment: Skittles. Just watch it! Romance the Rainbow! 8/10

Best twist: Bai bai bai. Christopher Walken. Just watch it. I loved it. 10/10 watch it follow the YouTube link!

Honorable Mention for Human Intrest Factor:  Honda, chasing the dream.

There ya go! I didn't consider any Movie Trailers or TV shows on this list because that's too subjective. I do say that The Handmaidens Tale looks pretty interesting

Lady Gaga slays- as usual.

Like are you even surprised? That woman works. She absolutely gives her all to every performance. I was lucky enough to watch her in concert back in 2010 and I have to say that she gave it her all. That woman sang and dances and brought it the entire time.  She WORKS.  So you can imagine my eye roll when I saw this little post.  Boycott GaGa? As if. No, conservatives. Good try though.  GaGa   would never! She is giving her all to this performance in this moment. She's not going to let politics drag her down in this. She is art and music. so if you boycotted you missed an anwesome show and I suggest you watch it asap.

#makefacebookfunagain

Ok is anyone happy with the state of the union right now? Like seriously? I don't actually care about your opinions- this is NOT the forum for that. Wrong blog, peeps. What I want to bitch about is every one bitching about everything. Spoiler alert- it's not helping! It's making everything worse. Facebook is the worst. Everyone is a keyboard warrior! Look people- stfu for real! What happened to the overwhelming posts of your kids doing something dumb? How am I supposed to know what you're eating every second if your fighting with randoms on the news sites? Where are the pictures of you working out?!? I cannot cope. The hatred is unreal. I need fuzzy animals!! Let this be a public service announcement. Let's make Facebook fun again. Hell at this point I'd welcome random FarmVille requests. This is an SOS. Send memes stat!!!!

Omg!

So I seem to have forgotten about my little blog here- never fear! I'm back and better than ever. On another note- maternity leave should really last a year. He's still not sleeping through the night. My usual outfits consist of business casual with mysterious shoulder stains; one of the benefits of being a human handkerchief. For a while there my signature scent was eau du breast milk. And for any of you bitches that say "oh you shouldn't be complaining, babies are a blessing yadda yadda- you know what babies are hard. I don't care (see title Care c?) I haven't slept through the night in forever.  I've notticed a direct corroboration in my lack of Care and my lack of sleep.

Those of you who stay at home- how the hell do you do it? The lack of adult interaction is so hard! I started having conversations with myself so I can remember adult words.  Staying at home and taking care of small children is a full time job- without vacations and sick time! And when the SO gets home from work- you still don't get a break. It's dinner time and dishes and laundry and bath time and bed time.

Tribute to motherhood complete- Beyoncé is having twins!!!!! Name guesses y'all? Gender guesses? Ooooooo celebrity name game is so much fun!
