Emerald city. Wtf, witches?

I love this show- mainly because it seems like all the women are strong characters.  Well- until today. Why does there have to be a damn Glinda/roan-Lucas/Dorthy love triangle? Why is that even nessescary? Why does there have to be a love interest? West wants her mommy. Glinda wants Roan. Dorthy wants to go home with Lucas.  Langwidere wants Jack to be her kept boy. Tip just wants to be a boy. Lots of tears. Everyone's ate up with a damn boy. I could have done without all this dick drama.
